This version was released to fix the following problem:
Internal Fax Modem does not work after resume-from-disk under
Windows 95/98.

System cannot boot up if connected to docking station or port replicator.
Shows suspend to disk progress screen in Windows 95/98.
Mouse can now be used to resume from sleep mode and to prevent from

Windows 98 cannot resume from standby/suspend to RAM mode.

How
do I update the BIOS on the FM97XLP2
Note:
Please be certain that the BIOS you are updating matches the system
model and CPU type. Otherwise, you will not be able to boot the system.
To update the BIOS on the FutureMate FM97XLP2 to the newest version,
follow this procedure
1. Connect the AC adapter.
2. Boot from a DOS diskette without Himem or any memory manager loaded.
Or press F8, then choose Safe
Mode Command Prompt.
3. From the directory containing the BIOS update files, type
"Phlash biosname.xxx".
4. Do not interrupt the program until the system reboots automatically.
Then, enter CMOS setup.
5. Load default setup.
6. For Windows 95, make sure to enable Plug and Play OS support.
7. Save and Reboot.

What
are the possible system memory configuration for the FM97XLP2?
You can use either 3.3V EDO RAM or SDRAM with the FutureMate
97XLP2 If you want to use EDO RAM, the maximum amount of memory supported
is 160MB for PentiumŪ, or 192MB for PentiumŪ II, and you can use any
of the three memory slots. If you are using SDRAM, the maximum amount
of memory supported is 128MB, and cannot be installed into the rightmost
slot.

Can
I use one EDO module and one SDRAM module simultaneously in the same
system?
You cannot mix an EDO module with an SDRAM module for use on
the FutureMate FM97XLP2.

Why
do I not see the picture when I play a DVD movie in Windows 95?
Please follow this checklist to troubleshoot problems playing
DVD movies in Windows 95.
1. The O2 Micro PCMCIA Driver has been installed. You should see a
folder called O2 Micro Cardbus on the
Start Menu / Programs.
2. Before you open the Margi DVD-To-Go player, run the O2ZVSW
program in the O2 Micro Cardbus folder.
3. If you inserted the Margi PCMCIA card in the bottom slot,
click on Socket A. If the Margi PCMCIA card
is in the top slot, click on Socket B. Then
Click on Quit.

Under
which operating systems can I use the DVD-ROM / MPEG module?
In order to play DVD movies in conjunction with the MPEG decoder
module, you will need to have either Windows 98 or Windows 95 installed
on your system. You will not be able to watch movies under Windows
NT, IBM OS/2 Warp, or any of the other operating systems, but the
DVD-ROM drive should be functional as a CD-ROM storage device under
all operating systems.

Why
can't I start Windows 95B successfully with a Cardbus card inserted?
If you boot up Windows 95B with a Cardbus installed, you might see
the error message "Windows Protection Error." Please insert
the Cardbus card into the PCMCIA slot after Windows 95 B has booted
successfully.

Why
can't I use 2 PCMCIA cards simultaneously?
Please follow these steps to reconfigure your system.
Note: The procedure listed here is one possible configuration. Under
some circumstances, you may also configure the modem or ethernet card
to share IRQs 10 or 11 with either one of the Cardbus slots, assuming
that you are not using a Cardbus card. This will allow the infrared
port to remain enabled.
1. During bootup, press F2 to enter System Configuration Utility.
2. Go to Advanced / I/O Device Configuration, Disable Serial
Port B, and Save and Exit.
3. Start Windows 95.
4. Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Device
Manager.
5. Click on the plus sign next to "Sound, Video and Game
Controllers" to expand the branch.
6. Click on Yamaha OPL3-SAx Sound System, then click on Properties
/ Resources.
7. Uncheck the box labeled "Use Automatic Settings".
8. Change the Interrupt Request to 3.
9. If you have already configured the PCMCIA modem card, please
remove it from Control Panel / Modem,
then reinsert it. The PCMCIA modem card wil
be reconfigured to COM 2.

What
are the recommended configuration settings under Windows NT 4.0?
The following are the recommended settings for Windows NT 4.0.
PCMCIA Ethernet Card : I/O 320, IRQ 9
PCMCIA Modem Card or Internal Modem: COM 3, I/O 03E8, IRQ 5
Serial Ports A and B are set to enable (not auto) in the BIOS.
Plug and Play OS is disabled in the BIOS.
BIOS Serial Port settings: COM 1, I/O 03F8, IRQ 4. COM 2, I/O
2F8, IRQ 3.
BIOS Audio Configuration: Set to enable (not auto). I/O 0220,
0330, IRQ 10.

Which
PCMCIA slot should I use for the MPEG DVD-To-Go PCMCIA Card?
You can insert the MPEG decoder card into either of the two slots,
since both slots support zoomed video. Just be sure that you are activating
the correct slot using the O2ZVSW utility.

Why does my system freeze up when I insert the PCMCIA MPEG card
in Windows 95?
If you insert the PCMCIA MPEG decoder card, rev. C2, into FutureMate
FM97XLP2 motherboard version F installed with Windows 95 OSR 2.x,
you might encounter system lock up problems. If you have this problem,
please download the latest O2 Micro 6860 driver for Windows 95 on
the FutureMate FM97XLP2.
Please note that this driver can be used for both Windows 95 and Windows
98. However, if you are using Windows 98, it is not necessary nor
recommended for you to install this PCMCIA driver.

Do
I need a driver to use the Zip Drive under Windows 95?
You do not need any additional drivers to use the Zip Drive under
Windows 95. However, if you wish to install some useful Zip drive
utilities, they are available on the Zip Drive Utility CD-ROM or from
the Iomega Web Site

How
do I install the 2nd hard disk drive?
To install a secondary hard drive, you will need to set the hard drive
to be a Slave drive. Refer to the hard drive documentation. After
you install the drive into the casing, simply insert the hard drive
+ casing into the floppy drive bay, and turn on the system. The hard
drive will automatically be detected by the BIOS. You may want to
disable the floppy drive in the BIOS to prevent the system from looking
for the floppy drive, or to connect the floppy drive externally via
the parallel port cable provided with the system.
