CD-Rom

Windows 3.xx
1.
Insert "TEAC 6X/8X CD-ROM Driver for DOS & Windows3.1"
into A:\ and run "setup".
2. Choose the default settings when installing.
3. Choose Return to Windows when done.
4. Insert Windows for Workgroup Disk # 6 into the floppy drive.
5. Add the [MCI] CD Audio in Windows Control Panel/Drivers.
6. Reboot the system.

AUDIO
(Windows98/95)

1. From the Start button, choose Settings / Control Panel / Add
New Hardware.
2. Click on Next, and do NOT let Windows 95 search for new hardware.
3. For the type of hardware to be added, choose Sound, Video,
and Game Controllers.
4. Choose ESS Technology as the manufacturer, and ESS 1688 Plug and
Play AudioDrive as the model number.
5. After clicking on Next, Windows 95 will copy some files from
the Windows 95 CD-ROM. After it is finished,
choose finish and restart Windows 95.
6. From the Start button, choose Settings / Control Panel / Add New
Hardware.
7. Click on Next, and do NOT let Windows 95 search for new hardware.
8. For the type of hardware to be added, choose Sound,
Video, and Game Controllers.
9. This time, choose Have Disk, and insert the diskette labeled
Audio Drivers for Windows 95.
10. Windows will find ESS 1688 Plug and Play AudioDrive on
the diskette. Choose it, and click on Next.
11. Windows will start copying some files from the diskette. Windows
will ask you if you want to replace some
files. Choose NO to keep the original
files.
12. After files are copied, restart the computer.
13. When Windows has restarted, the Sound Card should be working.
Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel /
System / Device Manager. Look for a
hardware type of Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, and you should
see two items labeled ESS 1688
Plug and Play AudioDrive. Remove the one with the blue exclamation
mark.
Windows NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Multimedia.
2. Click on the Devices tab / Add, and select Unlisted Updated Driver.
3. Insert the diskette containing ESS 1788 Audio Driver for NT 4.0,
and type in A:\16_1788 as the directory.
4. Select ES 1688/ES1788 AudioDrive 2.00.09, and select OK.
5. After files are copied, reboot the computer.
Windows 3.xx
1. Go into Windows. Insert "ESS Audio Software Drive for Windows
3.1" disk 1/2 into drive A.
2. Run a:\setup in Windows.
3. Choose Driver Installation, and choose Automatic Board Configuration.
4. Choose Install Software.
5. When all files are copied, restart Windows.

1. From the Start button, choose Settings / Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Display icon, and choose the Settings tab.
Click on Change Display Type.
3. Click on the Change button next to Adapter type, and choose Have
Disk. Insert the disk labeled
C&T F65550 PCI Driver for Windows3.1 /
Windows'95 into the disk drive, and click on OK. Then, choose
Chip and Technology 65550 PCI[new] and click
on OK.
4. Click Close to return to Settings.
Windows
NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Display / Settings.
2. Click on Change Display Type / Change.
3. Select Chips and Technology as the manufacturer, and C&T Video
Accelerator as the model number.
4. Windows will ask you if you want to proceed. Click on Yes, OK,
and close to return to Settings screen.
5. Click on Apply to restart the computer.
6. After Windows has restarted, go back to Control Panel / Settings.
7. Move the Desktop Area slider to 800 x 600, and select either 256
or 65536 colors.
8. Click on Test to test the new settings. After 5 seconds, you will
be returned to the settings screen. Click on
Apply or OK for the new settings to take effect.
Windows
3.xx
1. Insert "C&T F65550 PCI Driver" disk into A:\ and
run "setup". Choose default setting.

PCMCIA
(Windows98)

1. Go into Control Panel \ System \ Device Manager \ PCMCIA Socket.
2. If there is a "X" mark on the PCIC or compatible
PCMCIA controller, then click on Properties and check
Original Configuration under Device Usage
/ General.
3. Click OK and get out of System icon.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Go to Control Panel / Ports / Add, and enter the following
information : COM Port number 3, Base I/O
Port Address 03E8, and Interrupt Request IRQ
5. Insert the Modem card and restart Windows NT.
2. After Windows has restarted, go to Control Panel / PCMCIA. You
will see the Modem card identified as the
card in slot 0 or 1. Select it, and click
on Properties / Resources.
3. Record the resources assigned by Windows NT, and go back to Control
Panel / Ports to make adjustments
accordingly if necessary. Reboot if any changes
were made.
4. Go to Control Panel / Modem, and let Windows NT detect the modem
automatically. It should find the
modem on COM 3.
5. After it finds the modem, click on Next / Finish. You may use the
modem now.

Trackpad

1. Insert "Hosiden Touch Pad Driver" in A:\ and run A:\install,
select all the default setting.

1. Insert "UTILITIES" disk into A:\ and run "install"
2. Select "3" when prompted, go to menu and select
"Install DOS IDE driver" and "Install Windows IDE driver"
3. When finish, press ESC key to get out.
