Suspend
to Disk Partition (Windows 95/98)
1.
Boot up from a bootable DOS disk.
2. Insert the disk labeled Suspend to Disk Partition Utility in the
floppy drive.
3. From A:\, type 0vmakfil -pXX, where XX is a number greater than
the sum of system memory and video
memory in megabytes.
4. After partition is created, reboot the system.

1. Insert
the diskette labeled TEAC Quad Speed Driver for DOS & Windows
into drive A and run "setup".
2. Choose the default settings when installing.
3. Choose Return to Windows when done.
4. Insert Windows for Workgroup Disk #6 into the floppy drive.
5. Add the [MCI] CD Audio in Windows Control Panel/Drivers

5400A implements ESS ES1788 Plug and Play Audio Drive. To set it up,
do the following:
1. Go to System \ Device Manager \ Sound, Video, and Game controller.
2. Highlight ESS ES1688 AudioDrive and click Properties \ Driver \
Change Driver \ Have Disk.
3. Select the path D:\ESS1788\WIN95\DRIVER by either using browse
or by typing the path directly.
4. Select ESS ES1788 Plug and Play AudioDrive.
5. Reboot system.
6. After Windows 95 restarts, use the Start/Run command to run
the Audiorack 32 setup program. Use either
the browse command or type the following path
directly : D:\ESS1788\APP\SETUP.
Windows NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Multimedia.
2. Click on the Devices tab / Add, and select Unlisted Updated Driver.
3. Insert the diskette containing ESS 1788 Audio Driver for NT 4.0,
and type in A:\16_1788 as the directory.
4. Select ES 1688/ES1788 AudioDrive 2.00.09, and select OK.
5. After files are copied, reboot the computer.
Windows 3.xx
1. Run D:\ESS1788\WINDOWS\SETUP in Windows.
2. Choose Driver Installation, and choose Automatic Board Configuration.
3. Choose Install Software.
4. When all files are copied, restart Windows.
5. Exit Windows.

1. Double click on the Display icon, and choose the Settings
tab. Click on Change Display Type.
2. Click on the Change button next to Adapter type, and choose Have
Disk. Select the path
D:\CLGD7543\WIN95 either by using the browse
command or by typing the path directly. Then, choose
Cirrus Logic 754X PCI (Cirrus) and click on
OK.
3. Click Close to return to Settings.
Windows
NT 4.0
1. Windows NT Automatically detects the VGA Adapter as Cirrus
Logic 754X compatible graphics adapter.
Do not change the display adapter type.
2. Go to Control Panel / Settings.
3. Move the Desktop Area slider to 800 x 600, and select either 256
or 65536 colors.
4. Click on Test to test the new settings. After 5 seconds, you will
be returned to the settings screen. Click on
Apply or OK for the new settings to take effect.
Windows
3.xx
1. Run D:\CLGD7543\WINDOWS\INSTALL in Windows.
2. Winmode program will start automatically.
3. Since you have a SVGA screen, choose 800x600.
4. To install DOS VGA Drivers, run D:\CLGD7543\DOS\EINSTALL.
5. Press enter to choose VGA utilities.
6. Choose C:\ as the drive for installation.
7. Type c:\vgautil to be the installation directory.
8. After the installation finishes copying the files, choose Exit
Installation.

PCMCIA

1. Go into Control Panel \ System \ Device Manager \ PCMCIA Socket.
2. If there is a "X" mark on the PCIC or compatible
PCMCIA controller, then click on Properties and check
Original Configuration under Device Usage
/ General.
3. Click OK and get out of System icon.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Go to Control Panel / Ports / Add, and enter the following
information : COM Port number 3, Base I/O
Port Address 03E8, and Interrupt Request IRQ
5. Insert the Modem card and restart Windows NT.
2. After Windows has restarted, go to Control Panel / PCMCIA. You
will see the Modem card identified as the
card in slot 0 or 1. Select it, and click
on Properties / Resources.
3. Record the resources assigned by Windows NT, and go back to Control
Panel / Ports to make adjustments
accordingly if necessary. Reboot if any changes
were made.
4. Go to Control Panel / Modem, and let Windows NT detect the modem
automatically. It should find the
modem on COM 3.
5. After it finds the modem, click on Next / Finish. You may use the
modem now.
Windows 3.xx
1. Run D:\PCMCIA\WINDOWS\SETUP.EXE .
2. If only network cards and modems are used for the PCMCIA, then
deselect the boxes labeled ATA Cards,
SRAM Cards, and FTL Flash Cards. Then, choose
Install.
3. For the number of PCMCIA slots, choose 2 slots.
4. After Setup finishes copying files, remove the diskette and
restart the computer.

Trackpad
Driver
Windows 3.xx
1. Run D:\TOUCHPAD\TPREV.EXE to determine whether or not you
have a Synaptics or Alps trackpad.
2. If you have a Alps trackpad, change directory to D:\TRACKPAD\GPOINT and
run setup.bat. Otherwise,
change directory to
D:\TRACKPAD\SYNAPTIC and run INST31.EXE
3. Choose DOS and Windows installation.
4. For the installation directory, change from c:\temp to c:\gpoint.
5. Press enter to finish installation, and press Esc to return to
DOS.
